Acrylic yarn, cotton backing | 58” x 46”

This rug is inspired by “Keta” -the sense that you are made of many past versions of yourself, each layered on top of the other, both distinct and inseparable.

There's a strange duality in looking at yourself and recognizing both who you were and who you are now.

Every decision, every phase, every version of you still lingers in some way, shaping how you move through the world.

Some layers are sharper, clearer-defining moments that left an imprint. Others fade into the background, barely noticeable but still there, woven into the foundation.

The fragmented design reflects this-each piece of color its own shape, its own story, fitting together into something whole.

The face at the center is both unified and fractured, caught between the past and the present, between the self that was and the self that is.

Visually, it draws from Mondrian's structured abstraction. Mondrian sought harmony through fragmentation, breaking forms down into their simplest elements while still conveying a sense of balance and wholeness.

In the same way, identity is built from fractured moments-some sharp and defined, others blending together over time.

Who we are isn't a single moment, but an accumulation.

Every past version still echoes within us, layered beneath the surface, making us who we are today.
